Yael, the Australian living in New York City, played Lorna in Orange Is the New Black. Yael earned a bachelor's qualification from NIDA. Yael was fortunate enough from a very young stage to be a part of some of Australia's top storytellers and performers, as well as creative directors in the film, TV and theatre industries. Yael leads a highly successful career in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael's move to New York City began when the production received a prestigious review by the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Yael is the co-founder of The Cannery. It is based at Bushwick Brooklyn and works out of Brooklyn to encourage creative writing, innovative ideas and new work.
