His father Walter Smith was a computer market researcher, and her mother Lora was a therapist. Courtney Smith was a resident of the house of both of her parents at various time periods. Jennifer is her twin sister, and is an advertising executive. The school she attended was Menlo-Atherton High located in Atherton California, and Tamalpais High School situated in Mill Valley California. She was also a performer in the Ensemble Theater Company Mill Valley throughout her high school days.
