Meredith Salenger
Salenger was born and grew up in Malibu, California. She was an avid child and enjoyed doing shows in front of family and friends. When she was eight, when her mother registered her in her first course of acting. In the John Huston-directed feature Annie in which she was an unimportant role, in which she was described as being a "singing and dancing orphan". Salenger was also a part of a variety ads on TV. Salenger's debut starring role came in her role in the Disney film The Journey of Natty Gann featuring John Cusack and Ray Wise The film was the first US film to receive the gold award during the Moscow Film Festival. In addition, she was awarded "Best actor in drama" in the Youth in Film Awards, for her performance as the youthful Natty. She was also in four films before turning aged 18. One of the films featured in A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon. In the following year, she was accepted to Harvard for a higher education.
